Infection Prevention & Control Consulting

Infection control prevents or stops the spread of infections in healthcare settings. We can provide education on how infections spread, ways to prevent the spread of infections, and detailed recommendations for your facility.

ID Expert Speaking Engagements for Your Facility

MDstewardship's physicians are resident experts on Infectious Disease, tapping into years of experience at the upper level of their profession. Their speeches on ASP education and evidence-based clinical practice will transport clinicians to the forefront of their industry and supply insight relevant to the themes of facilities.

Long-Term Care Stewardship Support

Residents in long-term care facilities often face higher risks of infection and inappropriate antibiotic use. MDstewardship provides dedicated TeleStewardship™ services designed for LTC settings. Our infectious disease experts assist with infection-related decisions, provide targeted education, and align care practices with evolving CMS and CDC guidelines.

Nursing homes face unique antimicrobial challenges due to complex resident health needs and frequent transitions of care. MDstewardship delivers tailored Infectious Disease support through virtual consultation, staff education, and antimicrobial oversight. Our services help nursing homes reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, prevent outbreaks, and improve infection-related outcomes in alignment with regulatory expectations.

Client Experiences

  • “The TeleStewardship program has been great and we have absolutely kept more patients here as a result of the access to the ID Physicians and ID Pharmacists.”

    Brett Studley MD
    Hospitalist Director Beatrice Community Hospital
    Beatrice, NE

  • “We had a stewardship program and were not getting the results we needed. TeleStewardship has made a significant impact in length of stay, re-admissions, and hospital acquired infections. We definitely keep more patients here which we were previously transferring out.”

    Ashleigh Mouser PharmD, BCPS
    Hardin Memorial
    Elizabethtown, KY

  • “…having the TeleStewardship program to consult at anytime is a huge benefit to us. They are not just a consultant, but part of our team and it makes our practice that much better…”

    Richard Cimpl MD
    Orthopedic Surgeon

  • “Dr. Horne and his team have been nothing but wonderful and are available at any point of time...weekends, holidays, 24/7. They’ve told us, give us a call whenever you need help. A big reason why we work with TeleStewardship is to help keep our patients here locally. We don’t transfer near as many patients simply to get opinions from infectious disease specialists anymore.”

    Kurt Kapels MD
    Hospitalist

  • “I am a hospitalist physician at a regional referral hospital where there is no in-house Infectious Disease physician. The patients I treat are quite complex from both a medical and infectious disease standpoint. I appreciate that Allison, our referral ID doc, is available 24/7. She does not have access to the patients’ charts, but she is quite thorough, thoughtful, and helpful! I feel confident that my patients’ complicated ID issues are being treated appropriately!”

    Megan Collins MD
    Hospitalist

  • “San Juan Regional Medical Center’s collaboration with MDstewardship allows our community hospital to take our stewardship program to the next level.  On a daily basis we can provide efficient, evidence-based treatment recommendations to improve patient outcomes. This directly ties into our vision to deliver world class care; making life better for the communities we are privileged to serve.  As San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Clinical Pharmacist, I value the partnership with MDstewardship, a relationship that continues to grow and thrive five years into our collaboration.”

    Scott Conklin, PharmD

  • “As a clinical staff pharmacist in a rural Critical Access Hospital, having an MDstewardship Infectious Disease physician available to me at all times by phone and via health information protected messaging, creates an environment for me to efficiently and effectively make clinical interventions to better care for our patients.”

    Jeff Kildow, RP PharmD
